mutiply 1.7 pounds for every 1/8" of a square foot of glass.For instance a 3/8" panel of glass that is 3' x 6' would be 1.7 x 3 (from 3/8") x 3 x 6 = 91.8 pounds. polished plate glass 1/4" is 3.28 lbs per sq ft and polished plate glass 1/2" is 6.56 lbs per square foot. "Double strength 1/8" glass is 1.6 lbs per sq ft.
